I Had seen this in the news earlier today. PLEASE
NOTE: Roofs are designed to carry a certain maximum load per square foot (PSF). And even if the
load (snow) is close to it's maximum the length of time a snow load sits on a roof matters also. (Especially
when moresnow or moisture/rain is added)
Moral of the story: If you have a building with a flat roof (or flat roof section or a low pitched
roof) check it often in the winter. Snow can drift up putting an unbalanced load on portions of the roof
which can easily exceed the maximum . Clean the roof off periodically over the winter. And be safe while doing
so!
And of course the All State "Mayhem" commercial mixing humor and relaying the
importance of removing the snow build up on your roof. Enjoy.
